True relations

What are true relations?

A distinctive kind of relation is at the center of visionary, elemental society. There is no word for it, but it exists, or at least it has the possibility of existence.

There is an eternal quality, which transcends gender, race, age, appearance, and special interests. Do you find happiness in the context of a person? Or do you actually sense and hold the eternal quality of the relationship, and is this primary?

When you go as a human being, you will find a human being. We want to cultivate this rare, wonderful faculty for perceiving true relation. It’s the difference between embarking on peace, and a thunderous reunion.

We want to become a person for whom true friendship is possible. And we want to join in reciprocal action to reformulate society on this basis.

True relations projects

The culmination of ‘true relations’ is the formation of true friends associations, of centers that heal systemic conflict, and, ultimately, the generation of culture of care. These projects are practical steps we can take now to promote this vision of human interactivity.

True friends association
Consider the difference between ‘sisters’ and ‘true friends.’ Sisters know and care about each other; but they may be very different from each other, and they may have entirely different ways of looking at the world. ‘True friends’ have the same intention: to become capable of connection on the deepest possible level....

Compassion day
Think of the poor, the dispossessed, the marginalized, especially those who are distant, isolated, or cannot help themselves. What inner qualities are injured? How can we heal the broken ties with those who are suffering? (This is related to—or the same as --Complicity & implicity day.)

Deep relationships day
Let’s share news, and ideas about deep relationships, and criticize superficial relationships such as promiscuity. It is possible to cultivate and achieve lasting friendship, inner love, and care of strangers.

This event can be a counterbalance to another social project, ‘gay rights week.’ We do not oppose homosexuality. But we do oppose using homosexuality as a front to insert a sexual agenda, and moral anarchy, into our culture. (This can also be an opportunity to address the abortion issue, which is not about abortion so much as it is about the sacredness of relationships.)

Nurturing day
The existing holidays of Mother’s and Father’s Day serve various functions, but at the core is the honoring of nurturance. How do we help others? What is good for them? To answer these questions we have to see and comprehend their actual nature – and we also have to know how to judge what is good.

Love education
What is love, what are the kinds of love, and what is the highest form of love? Examine cold-hearted love, craving love, circumstantial love, romantic love, the feeling of love, unconditional love, and depth of love, as well as the forms of compassion.
This ‘holiday’ could be an appropriate counterbalance to ‘sex education,’ to promiscuity and the injunctions of religions, and so it could be promoted in high schools and colleges,
